Starter help

I know I need a new starter and have watched several videos....but none are for my year/ model (05 Road King Custom). Do I have to pull the primary cover in order to remove starter? if not, its looks like pipe removal should do for clearance to remove starter. I am no mechanic by any means, but everything Ive seen so far doesn't necessarily scare me away from DIY....Harley dealer service is stupid expensive!!!

yes.you have to remove the colt for the starter drive
