Default Negative battery post melt a bit

I recognized my negative post on the battery was alittle bit melted cause of the heat, but not much. So I took the battery out, cleaned up everything. Now its all good...
Just wondering if this is ok to just put the battery back and ride? The reason for melting was probably cause of the screws wasn't really tight

Correct, lose & dirty connects draw heavy amperage and generates a lot of heat. If the battery isn't damaged go for it, dirty lose grounds are a common problem.

Thank you for the reply. I don't know if its damaged yet, but hope not. The bike starts and all, guess I have to check after a few miles now

Make sure you clean the other end of the GRD cable too, and make sure it is tight.

how old is the battery? if it is approaching 3 years, I would keep a close eye on it. Would not expect too much more out of it. Keep those nuts and bolts nice and snug. the looseness will create excess heat with will melt the posts. Good on you for catching this. And record this in your notebook!!!

The battery is barely 6months old, so I think it will manage
