I always used to wear a half helmet (bought it from a company in Canada but can't remember who). At the time is was the lowest profile helmet available (with DOT approval) so I didn't look like a mushroom head or windtrap. The only downside was the need to wear ear plugs all the time.
Right now I'm wearing a full face unit which is great for cutting out engine and wind noise, but in the summer I really like to feel the wind in my face.
Can anyone recommend a low profile half helmet with ear protection? is there such a thing?
I have a HD brand half helmet (years old) with a zip out neck curtain. I’m sure there are several similar ones like this on the market. I leave it zipped on most of the time. It covers my ears.
I wear a half helmet and bought some ear pads off of amazon a year ago and now I don't have to wear ear plugs. They Velcro into the straps at the ears. They're padded & I wear them all yr.long.Don't remember exactly what they're called.Do a search on Amazon.
I'm not sure what you are looking for. A half helmet doesn't cover the ears. I have a GMax half helmet with soft removable pads to keep your ears warm.
Is that what you are looking for?
If you want the hard helmet to cover your ears that's a 3/4 helmet.
They are called Vega XTS Ear Pads. I've been using them for years in my half helmet and wont go without them. Cuts down on wind noise tremendously.

Went through a bunch of the " low profile " half lids and all had climbing problems at speed. Tried a Bell Pit Boss and wish I'd found it years ago , most comfortable helmet I've ever worn and zero wind issues with it, I can ride with it unstrapped and it doesn't climb. Removable ear protection works great too on those 40 deg mornings
