I may be asking a dumb question but I can take the heat.
today I disassembled my 00 rear wheel to put on the ne polished rotor. Never did this on a big twin so here is my question. To remove the axle I had to remove my stock muffler because the axle won’t clear it coming out. My head said why can’t the axle go in with castle nut on the muffler side.....that shouldn’t affect any thing except making any removal work on the rear easier. I checked You Tube and a few HD techs do it. What’s your opinion
i checked the forum and there were posts regarding this....forgot to check there before posting.
looks like many owners do it.

Indi who put on my Rinehart slip on's ( 2018 Deluxe ) reversed the axel for future maintenance. Came in handy when I replaced the rear tire. 10K miles since then and no issues.
