i guess the magnet would work but i don't know why you cant just put it on top of the fuel pump or on the saddle bag, or even on the damn seat. Seems more like you're solving a problem that doesn't exist.
I've been riding for about 20'ish years and I've never forgot to put my cap back on and i cant see how someone would make such an error
Well, I worked at a gas station in college, and we had a box full of gas caps left sitting on top of the pumps. So it happens - a lot!
Also, if youve never done it, good on you. It only takes one time with your crotch soaked in gasoline to get your attention. Not many good options at that point.

Reason: Pics
Ive lost one gas cap. And on my latest bike, SG. I had driven part way across the state maybe 250 miles or so and had stopped to fill up when I realized I left it at my last fill up the day before. Whats weird is I couldnt tell if any sloshed out. I filled up, stuck a wadded up paper towel in the hole and rode back from whence I came. Stopped at the HD dealer and bought another one.
Recently got tired of setting it on the floorboard, bending over to retrieve it, and hitting my head on the tank so I tried something revolutionary. I hold it in one hand while pumping gas with the other. Whod a thunk it.
I take my gloves off, put’em on the seat, then put gas cap on gloves. Pump gas. Use cap to put under gas nozzle so it dont drip. Gas cap in hand and screw it back in.

Yep. Like I said earlier, we should post pics of our gloves.
