First manufacturing Patriot Chaps! have a removable quilted lining, I have a pair and would recommend!!
I believe they are on sale right now!! I have had mine for about five years now!!
I use to see Heine Gericke (out of business) insulated leather bib overalls. It seems they would be protective, warm, and easy to put on.
I wonder if anyone else makes a quality set.

Had a set of those, they were some sweet gear. Lost them in my house fire in 82. What tipped me to going the Carhartt inso bibs instead.
There' a few brands out that carry them for the sport bike crowd, pricey buggers and not all that common.
Flannel lined jeans with a set of chaps over them. Been out in 10deg weather. Worked awesome!
I second this... I have a set of Wrangler flannel lined jeans I use with plain chaps. The chaps break the wind and the flannel jeans keep you warm. I did a 50 mile highway ride at 30 degrees a few weeks ago. Very comfortable..
Plus if you live in a cold climate, the jeans are good for being outdoors for extended periods on really cold days.
If you a hard core cold weather rider just buy a good pair of Ski pants to go over your jeans. They are water proof, won’t shrink, don’t look like your trying to herd cattle or impress anyone . Unless that is what you are intending to do.
