Default Modifying a HF dolly...

I need to store a bike upright, and mobile. Condor makes the perfect dolly, which has a front wheel chock and would let me tuck my dyna in a corner of my garage, and not be forced to sell it due to my wife demanding we get a golf cart to haul the 90lb lab around the neighborhood... (STFU please ) This will allow me access to my primary ride, the King, yet I could pull out the dyna as needed.

Anyway, the Condor dolly is upwards of $600. Nice, but steep.

So I had a crazy thought. Condor makes a chock designed to be bolted down to a trailer, which is 7.5" wide and would fit in the center track of an el cheapo HF dolly. The HF and other brand dolly's are a dime a dozen around here typically being sold by widows who's old man kicked the bucket, or by people giving up riding. (such is living in SW Florida) so one could be had for around $50-$75. Even new they are only $120 so NBD.

I figure I could bolt it down to the center track of the dolly with some good hardware and some fender washers, and voila, a solid upright rolling storage solution for $250ish.

What do you think?

I thnk you'd have trouble trying to get that chock down INTO the channel of the HF dolly.
That channel is like 1.5-2 inches high.
You'd have to cut back the rails of the dolly to let that chock sit level with the inside of the dolly to roll up on.
Otherwise, go for it

What do you mean by “dolly”? Are you talking about this?

The channel is 8" wide. I called Condor and they said the base (without the side wings) is 7.5" so it should sit flat at the bottom of the channel. I'll measure the HF before of course.

Yes, that's the one I was talking about in my post. Did you think I couldn't find it on HF's site?

But since you pointed it out, I now see the manual does show the max wheel width is 7 3/4, so the 7 1/2 wide chock should fit right in. So thanks for that!

Get one of these and put a chock and straps on it.
