i was getting ready to change the oil and i was going to pull the dip stick out and the top of the dip stick broke off . Any suggestions on how to get the bottom out ?
A broken dipstick while out on a trip is exactly why I now own these two items from O'Reilly's Auto, lol! If that's what you're talking about is that you broke your dipstick and it fell into your oil pan......

The bottom part of the dipstick is stuck in the opening
Can you describe:
Year and model of motorcycle.
Is this the engine oil dipstick and not a transmission dipstick?
Is it a factory original part or some aftermarket item?
What does the "top of dipstick" mean to you?

Okay, you should be able to take a punch/chisel/screwdriver and use a hammer to tap (not hammer) the plastic on the edge in a counterclockwise manner to get it moving.
Or see if you can grab it with needle nose pliers to rotate it out. Just be careful not to damage the metal part of the housing.
