Default '09 Heritage Classic saddlebag relocation bracket...

I bought the rear saddlebag guards and the relocation bracket kit that we were told was required. The original brackets seem to fit just fine after putting the guards on. In addition, they look to be made better and they look classier than the relocation brackets. Is it okay to use the original brackets or are the relocation brackets in the kit absolutely necessary to be used instead?

If the bags fit without the relocation bracket I would say you are fine. The purpose of relocation brackets is to relocate so everything will fit. Sounds like you should exchange them for some more stuff for the bike.

Default Thanks! We're using the original stuff since it seems to work fine...

The only thing we could see was that it might limit foot placement on the footpeg, but it didn't really even seem to do that. Thanks again.

I have the saddle bag guards and have been putting off the install because I do not have the relocation kit.....so if yours worked without that is great. Some pictures would be great thought so I could see how things look.

Thank you.
