Default dealer service question

My dealer just told me that its Harleys policy to replace everything (i.e. gaskets seals) even if they are not bad. OK I can understand this to a point but they told me if they didn’t replace my drain plug it could void my warranty. Have any of you had the same BS feed to you?

Just more ways to get your money. I have shop manuals for both of our bikes, and in the detailed instructions for changing fluids, ther is no mention of changing drain plugs unless ther is something wrong with the one you have. In fact I think it says to change the O rings "If" they are bad.

Regards,

Bill

I am going to take my service manual down with me and show them that it does not need to be replaced.

Then tell them you are going to put this episode on the Stealers and Dealers website. What they were trying is a crock.

Replacing the plug is senseless, unless there's a problem with the threads or something...
