Throttle Lock assembly ?

Throttle Lock assembly ?
So last night I was messing with my throttle. Took apart the houseing and removed the grip.
'07 FLSTC
As with any project I get into, I hear small pieces hitting the garage floor. Turns out to be the little curved pressure plate of the throttle lock screw, which presses up against the grip to hold it.
I found the pressure plate on the ground. The screw, spring, and c-clip stayed in place.
However, I also found on the ground a tiny rubber o-ring. ?? Not sure if this was part of the assembly, or just some little o-ring that was sitting on the ground from some other failed project. But it seemed to be of a size that would fit with this assembly.
I went ahead and put the assembly back together, placeing the rubber o-ring between the thumb screw and the pressure plate.
My question, does anyone know if a rubber o-ring is part of this assembly?
I actually did find this simple schematic on www.bikebandit.com, which does NOT show this o-ring. But don't know if correct. And this is for a 2005 FLSTC. Shouldn't be any difference, I'd guess??

Just for the curious...
I took that o-ring out last night and it suddenly hit me where it came from.
It came out of an HD tire valve stem cap.
This is the second time that little POS thing caused me headach. I took that thing and burned it properly in an old family ritual.
