Got a 1983 FXRS Low Rider with a kickstand that will not go all the up. Bought a new spring but still the same problem. It hangs down 4 to 5 inches from where it should be. Bought an aftermarket bracket that was supposed fix the problem but it was 3 inches or more too short. Anybody ever have this problem?? Anyone have any ideas? Short of having a custom made part I'm out of ideas.

 

Is it clean?

Mine didn't hang down, but I had to push it up. I also bought a new spring, and it didn't help. Hosed it down where it mounts with PB Blaster, then WD and it springs right back up now.
