Default ECM Question

how many miles should it take for the ECM to catch up to a change of pipes?
iI put vance and hines big shots on my 2003 efi fatboy and it ran fine for about 200 miles now its popping at cruising speed from just off idle to accelerating slightly. I found a vacuum cap missing and replaced it but it had no effect im wondering if i unplug my battery will it reset my ECM like it will in a car.
thanks for any help
matt

ECM's don't auto tune when changing items on the bike. What might have happened is by changing you'r pipes your plugs have now become gunked up or burned away.

What you should look into is adding one of the following.

1. An ECU Replacement (With Autotune) (Thundermax)(Comes with Wide band O2 Sensors)
2. Inline Tuning device (with Autotune) ( Power commander/Screaming Eagle)
3. Inline Tuning device (with Autotune) with O2 Sensors ( Power commander+O2 wide band Sensors)
4. A Flash Tuner (TTL)
5. A Power Vision (with on the fly tuning)
6. A Power Vision With Autotune and Wide Band sensors (with on the fly tuning)

Once you have chosen one of these you should also get it dyno tuned to setup the auto tuning as most out of the box maps still need some tuning.

The power vision (PV) is one you can tune yourself and you don't need a Dyno test centre

I am new to all this...I was considering the vance and hines fuel pack because thats the kind of pipes i have but if it will be better to have an autotune device I guess I need to look into that then.
thank you very much

Most people are very satisfied with the V&H fuel pack if you are not doing anything but pipes and breather mods. And they are fairly cheap.
