The slipons are pretty self explanatory as far as install. And yes I did them myself. Basically there's 2 bolts underneath on a bracket and one clamp between header and muffler. I also installed the screaming eagle a/c kit. This was a little ore difficult only because I had to stop in the middle to buy a T27 torx socket. Only other thing I can think you might need is wd-40 just to help lossen up the muffler from the header. I'll be glad to answer more if you need. Good luck and enjoy the difference.
just got off the phone with cycleshack as i did noy see the slip ons offered for 2011 flstc.he stated that i was asking him to break federal law because since 07 the softails havee had cats in the pipes, any how ordered some slpi ons from american custom exhaust,
They have to say that to be legal. I got mine through Dennis Kirk. I also asked the lady that answers the phone if Cycle Shack makes the Screaming Eagle's past or precent. Her reply was beautiful. "I can neither confirm nor deny that." Me playiing devil's advocate say "So since you can't deny it you're basically saying yes you do make them." She says "you're probably right"
And yes Cycle Shack is covering their butt legally by telling you they can't sell them to you. And since the cat's are in the mufflers you are excluding them when you install slip ons. I'm pretty sure Mexifornia has better things to do than chase an occasional bike that makes noise. Keep the stock ones close in case you need to switch them out.
