SERT Help Desparately Needed
07 Heritage, thanks for your help. The crux of my situation seems to be that I can successfully load any/all of the OEM maps on the tuning file. I have on 07 RKC and if I tried to load an OEM MAP for a sportster, it looks like it would do that. With any of the "custom" maps, ***.MT6, it reverts to the stock MAP 159....MP6. When I load the file for a custom map, the new configurations are there and the map file shows BTD.MT6 but when I try to flash with the custom map, it reverts to HD MAP 159..MP6. I even tried to change the values for stock map 159... and saved it with like an 01 extension and no joy. The custom maps were e-mailed to me and I copied/pasted them into my tuning files directory. They are definately there and load up into the tuning file but I can't flash them. Any additional thoughts? Thanks for your help.
I'm using the "H" CD, and the only files on it have .MT6 extensions. No .MP6 files. I suspect if I took an OEM file from my CD,named it with an .MP6 extension, then tried to download it to my ECMit would fail due to a bad checksum. I'm not familiar with .MP6 (dealer ?) files. Have you actually tried to flash the ECM with any of the .MT6 files off the CD?
As WVRDKING said, your file name can only have the LAST 3 DIGITS changed (not the filename extension), and theymust be digits (not characters). My guess is the file name (including the extension) iscalculated in the checksum, and the only part of the file name that is ignored are the last 3 digits of the name. The extension cannot be changed. Do you know the first part of the original file name from which your BTD file was created? If so, try naming your custom file using (OriginalFirstPartxxx.OriginalExtension), but changethe last 3 digits of OriginalFirstPartxxx to OriginalFirstPart001.OriginalExtension and installing that. That may bring joy.

Here is a pick of my map and file.

Give the "custom" map a different descriptionor"name" so you can differentiate when flashing. This can be done by modifying the nameof the map vs. changing the last 3 numbersas previously stated. Either will work if done correctly..
Pic ofwhere to change the Part #:

HOWEVER:
Just because you modify the name like I stated, which will work, when you look at the"ECM INFO" you will still see the name of the map as the program "knows it" and not what YOU named it. Modifying the part # will show up in the "ECM INFO" section though.
Here is an example of renaming the map, but NOT renaming the part number, and this still works as stated.

Not that difficult, but certainly a challenge to troubleshoot over the internet when a glitch doesoccur.
LASTLY, I changed the PART # within the map for demonstrative purposes so you will see that it WILL show up in the "GET ECM INFO" box as stated so you can see for yourself to be able to confirm the "custom" map indeed will be the one that gets flashed into the ECM.

Notice howchanging the PART # will show up in the"GET ECM INFO" box forconfirmation? BUT, you can just change the "name" of the file as well.
Clear as mud now?
The PART # is what you will see changed, and I'm clear to think this is what YOU are looking for in conformation of a flash.

EXACT same map, different part #'s.

Hope this helps. Most typing I've done in 5 years.
