2007 flhx coming home from lunch ,fired up could barely keep it running limped home, died and had to start multiple times, there were times it was only firing on one cylinder.i let it cool down ,it'll fire occasionally ,but won't stay running.
I pulled fault codes po131,po151,po501,po502,p1353,p1356.
What do you think?
First thing that I always do with any EFI bike is to have the battery load tested, and check the battery connections, and cables on both ends. Make sure they are clean, tight, and not corroded.
Then I start with the simple stuff. Have you recently done any work to it? If so recheck your work.
PO131 is a lean front sensor
PO151 Is a Lean Rear Sensor
PO501 VSS Low-- Check and clean/ replace this first
PO1353 No combustion front cyl
PO1356 No combustion rear cyl
If you have a service manual, which you should if you intend to fix it yourself it may have diagnostic flow charts to help you chase the demons down.
Battery and connections are good not sure how speed sensor could keep it from starting, kinda leaning towards not enough fuel pressure, isn't there something in the fuel tank that's plastic and cracks sometime, part of the fuel pump assembly?
There are internal hoses that may get holes in them over time. Try spraying a bit of fuel directly into the throttle body, and see if it starts. That would eliminate a spark problem. People have reported weird stuff happening with a VSS code. Do a search.
Also check the quick connect fuel line going to the tank. Sometimes those bearings in the collar will wear over time cause it not to seat properly. I am suspecting that you may have another issue there though.
