VOLTAGE DROPS
Hello all, Ive gota question,I have a 1990 elctrica glide,my problem is that the bike charges fine,except when I use my brake,and signals,the voltage guage drops down to almost nothing,and when I use the radio and I use the brake you can hear the radio cut in and out,where doI start looking for the short.

you don't have a short. shorts blow fuses and breakers. what you have is excessive amperage draw, prob in your lighting. most likely since the bike and its wiring are 17 years old, the connections are corroded and worn. the BEST way to fix it it to rewire, using new connectors. but a quicker fix is to pull apart all the connectors to the lighting and replace just those.
and the half a$$ get you through the year fix is to pull out the metal connectors and clean them.
