my bike started doing some weird **** the other day, got some codes but not a 100 % sure what they actually mean. code P1001 system relay coil open/low, so the relay I stuck open, whats the low mean? code b1154 clutch switch input short to ground, does that mean the clutch switch on the left handle bar is shorted to ground, code p0572, brake switch low. have no idea what that means. I got a code 1 time b 1005, fuel level sending unit high open, don't know what that means either. Plus when I took it for a ride today the security light {red light shaped like a key} would come on some times & the 6 gear indicator light would go off then come back on then go out again. I know a guy that had a charging problem & his bike was doing some very strange things as for as lights & codes would go. Any suggestions????
obd2 has a structure so i would research how it is done. some things can go wrong and open a can of worms of codes, yet only one cause. that is why some codes are addressed first, system cleared and see if there are returns.
basically, the ecu looks at current/voltage to a sensor and looks at the burned in program for acceptable windows, codes are not just thrown out for every upset. the issue could be connection or wiring related and not the component so as suggested, that is the first, easiest and cheapest way to go. some hd's had issue with corrosion in the electrics panel.
