Have a 2009 crossbones..When I check on the dash for "reserve' it shows the reserve millage. But instead of the millage going down it goes up..To me it suppose to go down as I ride, but its the opposite. I have vance & hines Big radius pipes with a fuel pack hooked up...What I am wondering if its the fuel pack screwing with my EFI module. I presume the fuel pack tricks the EFI module into doing what it wants, so is it possible it screws up the EFI module after a certain time into doing different things?
Your "Mileage to Empty" reading will go up as you shift up in the gear range as the engine's rpm's will decrease.
Ok this make sense as when I am driving and look at it the millage goes up and then when I check a few miles later it can be lower or higher..Didn't know it would change with the rpm's'
So once the fuel pack is dialled in, it can be taken off of the bike as its job is done so no need for it to be there anymore till I need to recalibrate again
You need to clarify if you are using the old Fuelpak piggyback unit or the FP3. If you remove the old style one, it will not keep the settings. I only said that just to test to see if the problem is still there with it removed. If it is, you can put it back on. If the problem goes away, there's an issue with the Fuelpak, maybe internally or just the connector is loose or dirty.
So, which one is on your bike?
The only settings in that "tuner" are inside the unit. It does not change the ECM settings like the FP3. So if you remove it and install it again it still has the same settings.
