2001 Heritage softail classic EFI (ecm fuse blown)
2001 Heritage Softail Classic 12000 miles.
Hit the road this afternoon with the wife ,had ridden a couple hours earlier in the day,with no problems.
Was only 2 miles from home when the bike just quit,pulled over scratched my head pulled the seat off, ecm fuse was blown,took the spare fuse put it in ,turned the ignition switch, blew the fuse immediatly, put in another ,same thing....went home and got the trailer ....searched this forum and others ....nothing .
Interesting thing- the horn blows with a different sound...any thoughts?
I was due to ride with some friends in the morning in the N georgia mountains .........guess i'll be home doing honey-do's

bare ground wire somewhere...start unplugging connectors and chase it down. grab a handful of fuses and a lot of patience. The ecm wire harness is a big one. If you can download wiring diagram that will help you out a lot!

Ecm fuse blows as soon I turn my ignition on
I 2007 soffail I been been trying to figure out why the ecm fuse.keeps blowing when I turn on the ignition ive replaced both relays and unplug fuel pump and am going to check the tssm I can't get to the service codes some the odometer will be blank

Hey guys, anyone find the fix for this?
mine just started having same issue with PC3 plugged in - ECM fuse blows upon run switch. With or without fuel pump fuse & Starter relay plugged in.
Starts and runs with regular Factory plug in ECM. But runs poorly due to straight pipes and modified intake.
I have peeled back much of the protection on the PC3 wire harness and can find no bare or worn wires.
I believe I have read the PC3 uses power from a fuel injector source and perhaps that connection is going to ground somewhere and forcing the ECM to blow? Looking at the bundle of wires that flows to the ECM plug again I can see nothing raw, worn, or exposed. Bike is FI 2005 deuce. PC3 been fine since I bought with bike in 2007.
