vendor recommendations (starter)
[/align]has anyone bought a starter from BikerHaven. They've got some on there that are 30% less expensive than most of the others I've seen... just wondering if they're any good.[/align][/align]my WG starter would "kick back" every now and then, but now that I've bumped it to 95" and 9.6:1, it's getting pretty regular. The jackshaft gear and clutch basket gears look fine, but it SOUNDS like gears climbing each other when I hit the starter.[/align]

You might also try http://www.harleystarters.com. I bought one of their starters last year when my starter went out, and the price and shipping were first rate. The starter is new and works great. I have high compression with no releases. I do now try to make sure that I have the bike in neutral to eliminate any clutch drag when starting. This will cut down a lot of drag that I feel wears the starter out much faster.
