Hi joe, If H-D loaded a map for the slip on pipe and you didnt add a breather kit you are probably ok for now. But i can help you if you want. When you go to get the usb adapter be sure and get the one made by Belkin, other some times want work.when you open the tuning program it should open the folder where the tuning files are,you need to clik on one of the files and it will open it ,then clik on edit and then clik on edit comments and you can see what that file is for, you need to keep doing that until you find a file that best matches your set up.When you do so to load it you hook up to the bike and clik on file and then program ECM, this will download the file to the bike. These files are what you call caned mapes and are sometimes still a little lean but will work ok.The only way to know for sure that your bike has the best map is to have it dyno tuned witch can cost about 300 bucks. But with just pipes added to your bike the caned map is probably ok. If you want you can e-mile me and i will give you my phone # and you can call me and i could better helpyou on the phone. Good luck and be safe. My e-mail is djcustom1@aol.com.
You shouldn't be too far off, but your probably running a little lean since the V&H are a little more open.
Do you have a copy of the map from when you had it tuned? If not try to get it before you start it will make it easier to get dialed in.
If you have it I would startby opening the map in tuner mode and changing to advancedmode from the menu bar.
If you know how to print screen and save the images I would save images of all the screens on the Tuner software before you make any changes. This will allow you to go back and see what settings you had at the start without having to switch between maps in the software. Change all the AFR boxes to 13.2 and save it using a different name then the original. You can find this information on page 3 of the manual. Page 3 will explain alot in just a page so it's good to read.
Download the map you just saved into the bike. Instructionsstart on page 23 of the manual. You need to hook the laptop to the bike, turn the key to "on" and the run switch "on" but don't start the bike. Click on program ECM and a window will pop up. You need to set the software to use the right com port. Just click on one and try to get the ECM info. If you have the right com port your ECM info will pop up, if not you will get an error. Once the info comes up you can click on program ECM. A window will pop up asking if you have ACR just leave it as it is if you don't have it and click to continue and it will program the bike. Turn the bike off and wait 10 seconds before you turn it back on. This is the short version, the instructions are very detailed if you look it up. When you download the map make sure your laptop is plugged in just in case your battery goes nuts on you. You don't want it to shut down in the middle of a download.
Mark your throttle, the instructions are on page 101. Hook a laptop to the bike and start data mode. Instructions for data mode start on page 59 and are very detailed.Click on file and record data. It will ask you to save a file so just enter a name for the file. A new window will open. Click on data type and chose engine with O2 sensors. You will also have to choose a com port which should be the same port you used to download the file to the ECM. Throw the laptop into a backpack and go ride until you reach operating temps. Once you reach operating temps find a place to stop and leave the bike run and click on the "Start" button to start recording. Ride for 30 minutes and follow the instructions on page 100 - 102 to get all the information you need. When you are done click on "stop" and then click on file, and save data. The data will be saved for you to look at later. Park the bike cause you will be done for awhile.
You will want to export the data to make it easier to read. Instructions for this are on page 76. Start at 0 and put the number of frames that were recorded in the count box. You can find that number by looking at the picture on page 62 of the manual under section 2 to see where you need to look to find it. Double click the "click to assign var" and a window will pop up where you can choose different info to be displayed in that box. You will want

Sorry to rain on your parade here but there is NO CANNED MAPS that even come close to your pipes.....this bike will need a custom tune!!
Hopefully you can fine a professional tuner in your area.
I agree, I have heard that big radius pipes are hard to tune. If you do not have the map from your tuner to start with I would leave it until a tuner can get to it unless you feel brave enough, but I wouldn't recommend it if you don't feel comforable with the SERT. If you have the map from your tuner you can always go back if you mess up. If you have the map and don't want to deal with the data mode just increase the bias on both cylinders to 798 to richen it up. You said it's not popping or backfiring so your not in bad shape if you want to leave it for your tuner. You can also pull your plugs and read them to see how you are running before you decide to deal with the SERT.
