Default Battery Removal & Smart Siren II

Pardon my stupidity here guys but I need a bit of help. Just received my PC III from Fuel Moto so working on the installation. The 08 calls for removal of the battery so that you can route the ECM cable under the right side frame tube. Problem is I can't disconnect the battery without my Smart Siren going nuts. I tried unplugging the smart siren and it still goes nuts. Question is.... how the heck to I disable the Smart Siren while I remove the battery to reroute the ECM cable?

Can't find any info in my owners manual, service manual, or in the Smart Siren intructions that came with it.

Thanks,

I just had my battery disconnected a few hours ago. I left the siren hooked up. When you disconnect the battery terminals, the siren will let you know that it no longer has a power source and is running off it's reserve power. It sounds like the alarm is sounding but stops after a couple seconds.

Turn the ignition switch on, then disconnect the negative battery cable. Now trun the ignition off. It works for me.

That's how I do it too. I think I read it in the electrical manual.
