pc 111 error

&nbsp\\;purchased from a member here, for a 2007 road king. tried 2- different laptops,every comport,only get sn no. and no devise error! any help will be appreciated! thanks&nbsp\\; gamb944@yahoo.com

It probably needs to be either hooked up to the 9 v adapter, or the engine needs to be running. But not both at the same time or you will set a code.

Yeah, me too, also don't try to update your firmware with the engine running, I got a nice pucker factor on that one, lol. Use the 9 v.

Use a fresh 9V battery when flashing the unit. A brand new one will be unusable after about 20 minutes powering the Commander.

Yeah, a real pucker factor, like a dead PCIII for about 15 min. in my case. Fortunately it revived and took the firmware upgrade. FWIW, setting 100% TP is best done by using the 9V battery and switching on the ignition, but not starting the bike. I've used this method numerous times with no problems, and is easier than having the engine running since you can hold the throttle at 100% 'til it settles. This only takes a few seconds, but is too long with the engine running.
