Power Commander Newbie
Thanks
Randy
Need to make adjustments to my pc3 for the first time. \\;\\\\\\; Found a map that sounds like what I've got. \\;\\\\\\; Do I need to leave the pc attached to the bike? \\;\\\\\\; It came with a 9V power wire. \\;\\\\\\; Wouldnt ask but I dont have a laptop computer. \\;\\\\\\; I'll probably be spending some time with their tech dept on the phone. \\;\\\\\\; Have most of you found any benefit in going with the advanced maps (presumably richening up the back cyl) or is that just complicating matters?
Thanks
Randy
Since you have an '07 you'll need to first set the throttle positions, both 0% and 100%. \\; Follow this procedure:
1. With ignition off, plug in your 9V adapter with a good battery.
2. Link your PCIII with your computer (USB cable) and launch the PC software.
3. Turn on ignition but don't start the bike.
4. Under Power Commander Tools, click on "Set Throttle Position".
5. In the small window that pops up, click on "Reset", then roll the throttle to full and hold until the large number on the right of the small window settles. \\; The number on left should read around 4k and the large one on the right around 28k (on my bike).
At this time your TP should be set, so close the small window and look at the TP setting in the main window. With no throttle input you should see 0%, and when you roll the throttle to full you should see 99 or 100%. If not, do the process over 'til you get the right TP settings.
I would find a map made for your setup, and if one doesn't exist it may be necessary to perform a dyno tune. If you bought the PCIII from Fuel Moto their maps are very accurate, but need tweaks for mileage if you value that. What setup do you have (mufflers and AC)?
I'm going to give it a go Saturday. \\; I've got a stock 07 eglide with the stock mufflers, modified by removing and replacing the stock baffles, sounds good
Thanks again
