I just found out that apparently locked up in the Tmax software are more advanced options.

Hell, I can bearly figure the basic **** out, let alone that. That's some serious stuff. Map creation and much more tuning options from what I've been able to find out. Ron
I believe advanced mode gives you access to the fuel offset tables. Adjusting those tables is how you get the actual afr to match the fuel table. There is no reason to change those tables unless you can tell whether the actual afr matchs the value in the fuel table. The easiest way to tell that is get the AutoTune and monitor the wideband O2 sensors in open loop. Better yet, run in closed loop and have AutoTune adjust those tables for you.
The biggest advantage of the advanced software is you can see the learned offsets. Essential if you want to really get your bike tuned in right. The authorization code is tied to one computer so getting a code from someone who has the advanced will not do you any good.
I was being a bit facetious. What advanced mode allows you to do is dyno tune a bike with a Thundermax ecm. Presumably that means a minimum of being able to view and edit the ve tables in the base map. What was facetious about it is the idea of using the wideband and road tests to build a base map. Realistically AutoTune would do all you could do without a dyno. If you want to build a base map you realistically need a dyno.
