Default Dealer Denied replacing 8 degree injectors

I know this topic has been beat to death, but I'm pissed. I took the bike in w/ the service notice(on Monday), we went out to confirm I had the 8 degree injectors (with the service tech), and all was well to replace. I got a call 2 days later saying, the bulliton was not a recall, and the bike rides, sounds good;therefore, we will not replace injectors.

Luckily they called me 5 mins before they closed and left me a message. I will call bright and early and raise hell. One of the biggest thing I have in my corner is that there was documentation in my 1K service call about bike stalling, spitting, and cutting out. (they just replaced filter saying there was a hole in the filter). I bought the bike in August, had it in for 1K service in Nov, and just got it out of storage last week.

The next step is to call Harley!!!!!!!! Anyone else had this problem?????

yes, call around... or spend the 130.00-160.00 do it yourself and ride on.

P.S. Get to know your people at the dealer and all is good.

Rodman813, I went to 3 dealers and got the same answer. They said, bike runs good, cant find any problem, sorry no new injectors for you. Because it is only a service bulletin and not a recall it seems up to the descretion of the dealer if he wants to change them or not. Since your problem was documented you might have a better chance of twisting their arm a little but dont count on it as their counter claim is "we replaced the filter and cured the problem" . This should be a safety recall and someone shouldn't have to get run over because their bike stalled in the middle of an intersection to prove to the MOCO that their injectors need to be upgraded...........BG

Same here......talked to three dealers, have no issues, so no 25s for me. Was told by all three, it is a service bulletin, not a recall, must have starting and performance problems. Oh well, at least they are consistent...........[sm=headbang.gif]

The new injectors are to correct a problem. If you don't have the problem, why change them? If it works, don't fix it.

There is no performance waiting to be unleashed here.

Just go riding and don't sweat it.

sometimes you have to go over the service mgrs. head. If the sevice mgr. doesn't want to work with you see if the owner wants to keep you as a customer. (there are quit a few H-D dealers in my area so I wouldn't have a problem going some where else). I had a issue with my serv.mgr. went I first bought my bike. I talked to to owner and I let him know what was going on and I was also calling harley and let them know how unhappy I was with my treatment. with in a hours time my issuses were resolved. but you have to do it in a way that it doesn't make you look like an @ss.
