Getting ready to order the TTS, my question is, is there any differences in Serial cables or USB cables that I already use on my home computers verses the ones the distributors sell? Just trying to be logical here. If there are any differences, can anyone please educate me.

When you buy, you have to choose USB or non-USB. USB is more expensive, and is just an adapter to go on the end of the serial cable.
If you have a standard serial port on your computer, just get the serial version. You have to get one or the other.
The cable kit has two parts, one connects the TTS to the bike, gotta have that, and the other is a serial cable to connect the TTS to the computer, wether with or without the USB adaptor. You can use your own here, but you will get one with the kit anyway.
Correct, as r0de_runr stated the TTS cable set comes with 2 cables. One cable connects the TTS dongle to the Delphi data port on your bike and the other cable is a standard serial cable. If you order the USB cable set it simply includes a USB adapter.

Why doesn't Fuelmoto offer a package deal on the TTS and Cables? Then I would jump on it sooner!
The issue we found is that not all USB adapters are created the same. Since there is no standard they follow we decided to offer one that we have worked with on the manufacturing side to make sure it works properly for what we need it to do. Others may indeed work fine but this is the only one we will support as we found it to be about a 50 - 50 mix of one's that will work and not work.
Why are these cables not included with the product? A buyer can specify which cable set they wish at time of purchase. That's like buying a car, but the engine is extra. The additional cost is almost like adding insult to injury. Tuners for cars, trucks or diesels are less $$. Anyway, IMO, the cables are a bit pricey for what they are. No flame intended here guys!
Who here can give me a good deal on this stuff, money is getting tight! The deals should be better than what's on the web..
DB9 serial ports are not typically standard fare on computers these days. Get whichever cable set suits your computer hardware.
The reason the cables are not included with the unit is because folks might have more than one unit and they can use the cables they already have on the subsequent ones. Having several sets of the same cables lying around, at a cost of whatever if nothing else, isn't most folks' idea of practical.
