My buddy has 07 Street Bob and has experienced trouble since 1600 miles. The issues surround the starter circuit. The bike would sometimes start by just switching on the ignition and not pressing the start button. Another issue was the starter trying to engage when the engine was running, sometimes weven when the bike was in motion.
The bike has been in the dealership 6 times. The work done to rectify the problem includes replacement handlebar starter switch, wiring fault, and 2 starter motor relay switches. The most recent change was a replacement starter motor. When the bikes owner was told it was ready for collection he went along only to find the bike wouldnt start. It wouldnt even turn the engine over.
The shop is now convinced that the starter relay switch is the problem and inend to put in another one.
I can assure you it isn't the starter.. You definately have a short in the wiring. First place to look is the the switch housings themselves.. I know it has been replaced.. But, my experience with the 2007 street bobs is : there is a big chunk of wiring to tuck in the dimple of the handlebars and have the clamp for the master cylinder fit without pinching them. I have had this problem with several bikes after service ( lubing the cables) or chroming out the clam shell covers.. This is where you problem is.
I tend to agree with it being a wiring fault. Not starter, and a relay generally won't click in without something telling it to, like a start button or pinched wire acting like a start button. Sorry, but I think my wife could even figure it out in less than 6 attempts. Time for a new dealer.

I just took my 08 FXDC in for the exact same problem. I sure hope it does not take them 6 times to figure this out. I thought for sure it was the start switch on the handle bars but now I wish I would have taken that apart and looked for a pinched wire. I got a little mad when the dealer did not have the switch in stock because I wanted to just buy the switch and replace it myself even though it's under warranty. When they did not have the switch i told them to just keep the bike and fix it.
This post is about 2 months old. Has your problem been resolved?
The problem appears to be fixed now. The Service Manager (unknown to his boss) said HD parts were sub standard and replaced the starter relay switch with a switch from a SAAB Not had any problems since and with around 2000 miles covered all is looking good....fingers crossed!

Here we go again!!
The problem resurfaced on Saturday. Engine cut out and the engine management light (EML) came on. Switched the ign off and back on. EML went out as it should and STARTER button pressed and bike started again. EML came back on whilst running hit kill switch to stop engine.
Switched the ign off and back on. Kill switch to RUN and the solenoid started clicking then the engine turned over without touching the START switch but didnt start. I guess the engine didnt start because the ignition ciruit wasnt energized? No spark at plugs?
