spark plug wires
I have a 2008 Dyna Wide Glide. I was going to put new plug wires on it (colored ones). Harley said if I use anything back stock it will throw a check engine light because of the resistance values of the wires. Anyone ever hear of this? Or is Harley trying to keep me from buying aftermarket products? Any help on this would be appriciated.

The ECM can tell if there is a problem with ignition or pinging in the cumbustion chamber. The antiknock syster. Uses something called ions detection. Can tell if there is a problem in 2-3 crank turns. Faster that the eye can see.
Everything between the ECM and the spark plugs is part of this system. If it works, it works. If not, you get a code.
Some people have problems, some don't.
