Default Problems with VCI update

Hi, I just bought the Screamin' Eagle Pro Super Tuner VCI, cables and software. I clicked the "Check for updates" button and it downloaded an update. When I went to go ahead and flash my ECM, it popped up a warning saying I cannot use the VCI until I update it first. Any idea how I update the VCI? I thought the "check for updates" button was supposed to update everything? I'm a little frustrated with the software as the help feature and instructions don't talk about VCI updating. Any help would be great, thanks!

You must have the VCI plugged into the Motorcycle & have the Ignition switch turned on in order to update the VCI. Don't ask me how I know.

Hi, thanks for the reply! That's what I had done and I've tried several things on the computer end to restart the software, reboot the computer, reinstall the software and rerun the update etc. Still getting same results. I'm stumped. No tech support number either as I am determined this is a computer side issue software related more than the VCI itself.

Have Super Tuner open an connected to bike. Key on, kill switch in run position. Click on the CD icon at top of page, will take you to another page. At bottom you will see a icon with a lighting bolt an vci. Click the icon an it will update the vci.

yep... there are two update facilities on the SEST. One is for the software update for your computer and the other is to update the VCI box. The software will not let you flash the bike until you have updated the VCI box.

Cool! Thanks guys, I completely over looked it in setup obviously. I'll go out in the morning and get it updated so I can finally start tuning the bike. Cheers!
