I need to remove the ignition switch from a 2006 Street Bob. It is on the neck.

That is an excellent thread but I need to know how to remove the existing switch from the neck.

 

i know there is a decal around the switch that has to come off and more than likely you'll ruin it in doing so, so get another. you'll also need a "special" tool from HD to remove the switch. Go figure!!

 

did you figure it out ? were you able to do it ?

i also need to do the same thing to actually re-place mine. when i bought the bike i got one of those willie G keys ... "not recommended" and the damn key broke in it and it now is all messed up ... so bad that I actually got stranded one day. dealer was able to temperatiy fix it so that I can turn the bike on and off but it now wont go into fork lock or any security mode !
