screaming eagle street performance tuner kit is PN-41000008
this is the one you DO NOT want to get. The one is NOT tunable. It allows a dealer to load STREET LEGAL MAPS ONLY to the bike. You can't make any changes at all other than putting MAPS on.
I was just looking at the 2011 HD catalog. The screaming eagle street performance tuner kit is PN-41000008 and does include the VCI module. This kit doesnot come with the cables. The cables are PN-32184-08. The price for the tuner kit is $329.95. The price for the tuner cable kit is $39.95. This cable kit doesnot fit the 2011 softail models. The cable kit for the softail models is PN-41000018 and is $39.95. This tuner will work on all models except trike and vrod. I had the dealer install my mods before I took delivery and dyno tune my bike. I have a 5 year extended warranty that is not voided. My bike is a vrod so I use the screaming eagle pro efi super tuner PN-32109-08B. The bike runs flawless.
I can vouch that the 41000008 is not a tuner but simple a device that enables canned epa compliant downloads based on epa compliant mods. No way to make changes to the canned maps. This I believe is the what has most people confused as to Harely tuners. I ordered one because I missed the fine print. I will say for a completely stage 1 upgraded RGU it works very well but if you vary from what is called for in the downloads all bets off.
I was just reading the product information. The kit came with software and hooked to the VCI module to download run data. The VCI was to be hooked to the bike at the same time. It said the system checked 27 variables and you could make certain changes and then put the changes to the bike. I think this system would work best on a dyno.
Sorry to see you live in Canada: "EVERY Tuner kills the warranty." Here in the states we have the MagnusonMoss Warranty Act that requires the warrantor to prove upon legal challenge that the part in question caused the failure of the part(s) they want to refuse to cover. I'll stick with HD's first choice, the DynoJet products. It's not my problem they couldn't come to terms, I can buy PC products everywhere.
