Ok... I jus got this Power Vision and have read thru most of this write up, I have downloaded the log tuner and all and went for a ride of about 30-40 mins, brought the unit inside and am trying to look at the log files... but somehow i jus don't get how to create these .pvv file things.. i saved the logs in a new file on the desktop and when i try to open them it opens as excel files.. somehow i'm jus not getting to open them to view them.. and when i look in the WinPV i do not see where to open these extra things i should log and see..there is only a couple of things in these trees ... oh and i logged the tune using the 319245 code setup.. i can see there are lofs there i jus cannot look at them...
You use Power VIsion Log tuner application to input the map and logs to update and create a new map. You can look at them with Excel but PV Log tuner is the program that uses them.
Been thinking about getting the wide band tunning kit, is it worth it? I hear you can have your VEs set in about two runs? I got my closed loop areas pretty good with the oem scensors but I think the open loop may be leaving somthing on the table because I cant read my afr raitios? Ive done 12 retunes and it runs good but I feel the open loop areas could be a little lean. So I guess what Im asking is in order to get my open loop areas correct without a dyno do I need the wide band kit or will it get it with the oem scensors?
Thanks...

Does anyone have any advice they can give me?
Thanks...
Ok ... I've been playing with this a bit more.. I printed out the PV Tuner Basic Instructions... in step 2 it says create a value file..open the calibration and under file/save selected values, and select some tables and such.. my prob too is that the "trees" that are supposed to open under each thing doesn't appear to be there...maybe that's why i cannot make a .pvv file ???

When you are in the winPV program left and center under tune items you will see files with little plus signs in front of them click on the plus sign and it will open up a list of parameters with boxes you can check mark with a click. Open airflow and check ve front and ve rear, open fuel and check airfuel ratio, open spark and check spark advance front and rear.
Also in the setup user options make shure you have chosen pro or you wont be able to access these options.
