06 electra glide classic electronics
just "inherited" an 06 electra glide classic from my exfather inlaw. it runs great but none of the gauges, lights, or radio work. anyone know where i should start? i've worked on other bikes but this is my first harley.

If everthing else runs/works fine it's probably just a blown fuse. Pull your side covers and take a look. All the fuses are real easy to get to. If not blow, just give them all a wiggle to reseat then try again. If it is blow, then the question becomes, what caused it to blow...trace the wires looking for a pinch or chaffing short. Odds are that it's something simple.

The fuses are behind the left side cover - remove the left bag to get to them. There is a fuse that runs the guages, etc. Mine blew when I got rain in the cig lighter. This one won't keep it from running. Jwillie - I'm in Fredericksburg, VA. If you have too much of a rough time with it, we can meet somewhere on it.

thanks for the advice. i just got home from LA and \have time to work on the wiring but i need a wiring diagram thought i had it fixed but when you hit the starter it blows the fuse again. at a loss now. have the bags and seat off and still cannot find anymore wires rubbing. any ideas?

yeah took the fairing off and it was a mess the previous owner had left wires lose and there were a few pinched. i straightend everything out rewraped the wires and zip tied it all back up. since it was blowing the fuses only when starting i also removed and cleaned the contacts on the voltage regulator. took it for a ride yesterday maybe 20 miles and the gauges were still working.
