My question is this. Switching to a Milwaukee 18v battery to eliminate vibration problems with a standard batttery. Everybody is running them with a Dyna4000 with not problems. I'm running a Dyna S, 4 - 6v coils wired in series.
Is the 18v going to cause problems with this setup?
If so what is the easiest, cheapest, most vibration proof way of dropping the voltage?
COULDN'T FIND SPECIFIC THREADS TO MY PROBLEM. SO HERE GOES. I have a 2008 FXDB AND issues with the battery tender leads. It keeps blowing a 7.5 fuse every other time I charge my system. I also have a 30 amp fuse lead that came stock with the bike. That one never has blown. I can't use that lead for the battery. It has been rewired by Harley to some other lead. I don't really know where it goes without tearing up the wiring to get at it. Can I safely put a higher amp in to replace to 7.5 fuse? 10 or 15 will not cause a problem? I can't keep buying and replacing 7.5 amp fuses all the time. The battery tender is by Bell - The Juicer battery Charger. model BFJ-012-120. I also have a security system on it by Harley, with siren, and LED light system, as well as upgraded back turn lights to be always on at night. Upgraded high decibel horn, and high capacity fan. Any suggestions?
Bachus - to have 4 6-volt coils in series, you should have a 24-volt battery.
Can you use 2 paralell sets of 2 series coils in a 12-volt system? It's the same, but better because if all series, any bad one will cause all to quit.
Streebob2012 - if you use a higher amp fuse you may burn up the wires if there is a short. What does the 7.5 fuse feed?
