Heres a challenge for anyone who knows HD fuel injection.
I have a 2010 TC96 from a road glide, a new stock Harley ECM, a new factory wiring harness for a road king, a TSM from a touring model. Its all assembled on a rigid frame.
I have power to lights, turn signals, brake, horn, starter, and headlight. The fuel pump fuse is not getting power and the bike will crank but not start.
I took it to the dealership in the hope that they could flash this new ECM and get something to happen. They tried, and said they could do nothing unless it starts.
Any suggestions on what the next step should be?
Any suggestion why it wont even start and stall?
Any guess why the pump fuse wouldn't be hot? I hot wired the pump and it does run so that's not the problem.
O.K. how about this; has anyone replaced their ECM? When you buy a new ECM from Harley is it preloaded with a map or does the dealership program the ECM?
What about the right control on off swich. While the main key switch will power up the bike the right handle bar control turns on the fuel pump and starter relay. http://partsfinder.onlinemicrofiche....dmc&A=664&B=63

New ECM's are blank and need to be programmed by the DT2 before they will work.........
Once programmed the ECM controls the relay providing power to the fuel pump.
Also make sure that the TSM or TSSM whatever you are using is positioned just like it is on the stock bike depending on if it comes out of a Touring or Dyna as different ones are vertical or horizontal or the bank angle sensor will cut the bike out as well but normally that will cut the starter so I reckon you need the dealer to program it with the DT2 but they are going to need the whole bike and a VIN to put in.
Although a stock flash is free they will charge you for labor and if they don't know what they are doing well your going to get deer in the headlight looks from them.
Well, there's not a specific fuel pump relay, there is a system relay, start relay, brake relay and lighting relay; all are new with the wire harness I bought.

Im pretty sure there is supposed to be a fuel pump relay. Look further into that. If the fuel pump is not coming on, that is certainly a reason why it wont start. Have you checked the fuel pump fuse?

Interesting... Thanks very much for the info scotty. I explained to the mechanics at the dealership that the ECM was new, and they did request the vin number which I gave them, but they would not let me watch, and simply came back to me and said it wouldn't start; and that they couldn't do anything with it unless it starts.
This confuses me greatly because; how can it start without a program? The fuel pump is still not getting power so I guess they did not program the ECM right? If I understand what you are saying, once programed the fuel pump should run; which is an indicator that the ECM is still blank.
As for the TSM I have, it has the part number for the touring models and is mounted in the vertical position.
They did not charge me for anything, but when I gave them the vin # and explained it was a motor purchased on ebay they really seemed to not want to help much. I guess I need to find someone who has the harley software.
Yes, the fuel pump fuse location is not getting power. My fuse block as well as my service manual do not include a fuel pump relay. But even when I hot wire the fuel pump from the accessory power the motor will not fire. The injectors are not being told to fire is all I can conclude. Thanks though for your input, I appreciate the brainstorming!
