I have a big QUESTION ???
I had exaust put on my 06 softail at the dealer a few weeks ago and they used a race tuner.
I did not give it a thought till the other day when I started looking for pipes for my 06 ultra.
I got the box it came in and opened it up inside I found a cd,a couple of cables and a little black box with computer cable connectors on both ends. The box sayes EFI race tuner kit on one side and on a white lable on the other side it sayes 32114-01A 04/21/06
Now is this all I need to tune or is there another part that they installed on the softail.
And can I use this on more than one bike at a time.
Do I use the CD to download the programs from or do I have to download it from harley or somwhere?
And from what i'm hearing( after i ordered mine) is if ur ecm goes bad. u buy a new ecm AND Sert...talkin about a rip off??
You're spreading bad info there. I know of at least 2 people who needed an ECM and their dealers contacted HD Tech service and the MOCO swapped out tuner keys for them.
You are right One_Screaming_Eagle, that was one of the questions I asked my dealer before I decided to go with the SERT. What happens if my ECM takes a sh%t do i need a new ECM and SERT and they gave me the same information that you just imparted.
Glad to hear that...as far as spreadin bad info, thats what i was told on one of these dang boards...now you say the dealor contacted the moco....what if i ordered the sert online...will they do that for me? Our local dealor is crap...infact i went 3 hrs away to buy wifes bike cause they told me they dont deal...set price and no moveing off it!(which was $3000 more on same bikeAnd options)Came back to them and showed them the deal someone else was giving and that i wanted to buy it here if they would match it and they said flat out if i didnt buy it, someone else will! in reading some of these boards, what im picking up is the vin is burnt into the ecm, if thats the case, why wouldnt the key work without changeing? or is there a serial # also read?

It doesn't lock to the vin - it locks to another area of the ECM
I don't know what other dealers will do for you, I'm not them. I'd suggest in the very unlikely event that an ecm faulire occurs that you have the servicing dealer ask, and if they won't, contact the selling dealer of the SERT.
Does the moco have to be informed before a sert is installed, as in if a person purchased one online, and installed it himself. Would your warrenty be gone? I haven't had to deal with warrenty work for over 15 yrs and I am sure things have changed.

Unlikely? While in Sturgis this year, a guy camped next to us had his bike just quit on him at a stoplight(totally stock and 1 yr old) Towed it to Black Hills Harley i think, he said and they had to replace his ecm under warrenty. Also told him several where goin out and they didnt know what was causing it(said his took a voltage spike). Anyways that was info he relayed to us that night at camp.
