01 Electra speedo
Hi,I was wondering if anyone could help me with a problem I am having.I have a 01 Electra glide and have been having problems with my speedo working sometimes and other times not.Today riding to work it was working fine I was listening to the radio also all of sudden the radio volume turns way down to the point I can barely hear it .Then at the same time the speedo acts up any suggestions?

Welcome to the forum from NC.
First thing I'd check is your speedo sensor on the top of your tranny, ( Right side, just behind your oil spout.)
If the sensor is dirty, the speedo can't read the gear speed and the radio gets quiet because it "thinks" that you're not moving anymore. Pull the 1/4" screw, yank the sensor out of the case and clean the underside of the sensor.

Welcome to the forum, I also have an 01 EGC and had the same problem. I cleaned then changed out the speedometer sensor, then put die-electic grease on the electical fitting to the speedometer, it helped but wasn't fixed until the fairing brace (left side) was replaced. It was broken at the top and as I was having the dealer replace the inner fairing and handle bars I had them replace it at the same time. Think the brace was $28.00. Thats what it took to fix mine.
