brake light on
Hopefully this is a simple fix. Got my 2001 Road King Cop bike inspected. Noticed the back/brake light was out. So I bought a new bulb from the HD dealer per the spec book popped it in. Got inspected and drove off. Now two weeks later the light is constantly on. I see there is a switch in the line. Do Ijust nned to buy a new switch, unscrew the old one, screw in the new one, hook up the two leads and good to go?

make sure it gets locked in the tabs.

Check your computer for any codes that your bike may have stored.
Do a search for DTC on here.
Your light being on solid indicates a problem.
