Allright, I am still having no luck with my bike and the lack of spark, I am looking for suggestions on an electronic ignition setup, I am no rich but I want something good. Also if you could tell me everything that I will need in order to convert it would be greatly appreciated, summer is flying by and the bikes sittting.
There isn't any ( distributor type) for sale ( if I remember correct) aftermarket electronic ignitions are made for points type -71 and newer engines.
There is possibility to made it from panhead electronic ignition....
Nah, there's a great electronic ignition available for your bike. A guy on eBay sells them for about $150. The unit fits inside your stock distributor and (unlike most electronic iginitions) will work with the old coils. A friend is using it on his 49 pan and swears by it.

If you have an XLCH you have a magneto so there are no conversion kits. If you can find a distributor off one of the electric start bikes that would be where you need to start, or replace it with an aftermarket ddistributor like the Mallory unit shown above.. You would also need to mount a battery somewhere. Please don't take this as a slam, but if you can't get a magneto sparking you probably are not going to do a very good job retrofitting a distributor and battery.
I get the impression you have been working on this for a while. A mag is pretty simple but it's particular about what it wants. What have you done? Have you followed the troubleshooting procedures in the FSM? They are really pretty good.
I didn't look at your make and model. Are you running the stock mag? If so, my link wouldn't do you much good. You can buy a distributor set up but a better route, at least to my mind, would be having your mag repaired.
Tell me your general location and I'll try to hook you up with someone that does mags.
