Simple answer. Depends on what trans output sprocket ya'll have on it and 18 or 16" rear wheel. 1974 XLCH is a 21 tooth. I'm running a 23 tooth on my 77 XLH and 3,000 rpm has me right around 60 mph. With the OEM 21 sprocket and 18" rear wheel, 2740 for 51.3 mph and 3320 for 62.1 mph.

" 3,000 rpm has me right around 60 mph"
This is a good general guideline: double the first two digits of the RPM to get approximately the MPH

It doesn't take much riding time to check if the cable broke and get a new insert if it did.

I've already confirmed it's the drive, which means parts ordered to my remote location and wheel removal for repair.

1. I always wear gloves
2. Wouldn't risk dropping my phone
I'll check Waze out though

Only need to check it once. Get it in 4th, then grab phone in left hand and visually note speed vs various rpm for future reference.
