XXX, That is impressive. Even with the wrong wrong oil. ;-)
What part of the country do you live in?

Is it the wrong brand, not motorcycle specific or not being synth that makes it wrong?....LOL....If it's the brand and not being synthetic, I just had the same experience with Pennzoil dino in my 1994 Toyota pickup's 22RE four banger. At 154k miles, it got a slight head gasket leak. My buddy's shop tore it down to replace the gasket. The motor was very clean inside. The cylinder walls in it also showed the cross hatch marks. After a gasket set and new timing chain/water pump for good measure, she should be good for another 100k miles. Not to mention, it doesn't have an easy life. As soon as it was bolted back together, I left on a camping trip.....poor little 114 hp truck loaded full of firewood and pulling a decent sized camper full of crap.....3rd gear, screaming at 4500 rpms on the grades to maintain 60 mph...I've abused it like that since new and it won't quit. The boat I ask it to pull makes the camper look like a feather.....Anyway, Pennzoil works for me.
The wrong oil comment was followed by a wink. Since everyone has an opinion your choice is wrong to someone.
I say straight weight oil and change it often. But I have started using 20/50 when it is very cold so I have a change to kick it over. My legs going and I am old.

I know all about getting old!!!! That is why I have an electric start button....Kicking a '69 XLCH for 19-years has given me permanent "Sportster Leg"...That is, R/H thigh is larger than L/H....I have it for life. I'm lucky I don't have rivets in my Right leg bones!!!!!!
