Default Changing tranny fluid

I was looking in my manual about changing the tranny fluid and it read to add approx. 1.5 pint. also untill she comes out the the screw. Now my question should she be straight up or on the kick stand the manual don't say i have a early 84 ironhead thanks.

On my 79, I have a block I put under kickstand that puts her almost plumb (still has a very slight lean) when I check mine. I have a chair in the carport I put on the right side just in case. Never know when a gust of wind will tip her over since she's so close to plumb. Not really sure of the correct way, just the way I do it.

I always use a motorcycle stand so the bike is straight up. Then remove the "correct level" screw. Fill until fluid begins to leak out of level hole. I guess if you don't have a stand you you could use a buudy to keep the bike from falling over.

I guess that the bike should be level when adding the fluid

I have a large eye screw screwed into the wall of the workshop. When i want the bike level i put 2, 2X6s under the jiffy stand and run a tie down strap from the bike to the eye. Yes, level is correct for the primary fluid.
