as i understand it these bikes are just "grabby". how bad is it jumping forward? for me i mostly start it in neutral.i first used..??? 60w i beleive but when i switched to ??? the modern trans fluid stuff(forget name but its whats called for and got it at harley davidson) that helped alot.
Try the clutch adjustment procedure again. In step 4 where you adjust all the free play from the cable while putting no tension on the cable - what i do is turn the adjuster out until it is gently finger tight, then ensure that there is no free play at the handlebar by turning it a little more if necessary.
Then in step 6 i turn it a little more if necessary to get the 1/16" free play.
its called formula 1.-----there may be somthing better i dont know but its what i changed to from 60w and i have no regrets.made things smoother.not perfect its still grabby but made things better fer sure.
Yep that's it, I have used that new HD Formula+ and old Sportster Transmission Fluid.
Revtech still sells that "old type" transmission fluid, in my bike that "old type" flluid seems to work better.
