what % would you attach to "almost" ? first we have to know how many companies in the World there are, then do some tedious exhaustive research on defining and qualifying "holding the bag"..then..ah **** never mind..ever own a VW? I have, CEL was a regular event that service techs never could figure out, they just kept guessing..wrong I might add

Not really, Most of the R&D for Otis elevator, after UT bought them, was in the field at the expense of the customer.

Doesn't really matter, in this day and age you won't last long doing what HD does. The rest of the motorcycle industries are doing OK. My last three vehicles, A 2010 and a 2013 Dodge challengers, and a 2017 Silverado truck, absolutely no problems, no warranty work. I've had quite a few Harley's and just about every one of them had a lot of problems. Just stating a few facts.

As they apply to you, not necessarily the whole.

Ask me about my constantly crashing factory NAV system on my 2021 Chevy Colorado.

I've had a completely different experience. I bought my 2016 new. I personally put 38,000 miles on it in five years. A couple years after buying it, I had an "all Harley" stage 2 done. Ride it for three years like that.

In the entire five years, that bike required absolutely no service work other than maintenance. When I traded her in on the new beast you see in my sig, it didn't burn, drop, or otherwise lose a drop of oil. It religiously got 42-44 MPG. It took me to Daytona once and Sturgis four times. And not once did she let me down.

Manufacturers have gotten better over the years, including Harley. Machines do break, however, and our personal tribulations tend to shade our POV on things.

Side story - my 2010 Limited left me stranded once. Halfway to Daytona, the front wheel bearing started screaching. Found a dealership pretty close by, and it was toast - seal was blown and some of the bearings had actually escaped. Well my buddy on his Victory had a field day - he laughed and laughed at what a POS Harleys were to blow a wheel bearing like that.

True story - the very next year on the way to Sturgis, guess who burned a rear wheel bearing? That's right, my Victory riding buddy. Only the search for a dealership was not so easy, and the parts weren't in stock. Needless to say, I had the last - and loudest - laugh. Moral of the story being, they're all machines and they're all prone to breaking.

Default M8 blow by

I bought my first Harley a 2018 fat bob FXFB 107. While on YouTube I’ve seen dumping issues and oil blowing back through the intake. I tried to read through the forums and wonder if my bike still having issues. I’ve noticed it has a breather tube on top of the crankcase and the intake body looks like it has breathers also but me being a total noobie I haven’t a clue. My question is even with these mods are they efficient or not good enough. Because there is evidence that there is oil in the intake but very little.
thanks in advance

What are the two hoses on ether side?

Crankcase vent but I think it’s in the wrong spot

Don’t know it this much oil is acceptable

Some here will tell you to install the breather bypass. I would tell you to clean the butterfly and ride it. What you have in that picture is not much oil at all.

Agree and be sure to wring it out good and plenty, don’t be afraid of the upper rpm range it’s good for the engine health
