yup, the shift linkage thing bit me..5000 miles on my 2015 RK on a hot day in the Oregon desert in the middle of nowhere, poor cell phone service and closet dealership 100 miles away..got lucky and was able to get it fixed but it's one of those things that has stranded other members in our HOG Chapter
My point exactly. The stretch of US 95, OR 78 and, US 20 between Bend and Mc Dermitt is not exactly where I'd want to have an issue. Ditto on old OR 242 west of Sisters. There is a damn good reason The McKinzie Highway is closed in the winter.

For a guy that supposed to be in Texas, sure sounds like Oregano..

There is a reason my '16 scoot that I bought in May has over 18 k on it. I bought it to ride, not wax ! Ditto the '16 Z06 I bought in Aug. It has 15K on it now.
These new M8's look like an engineering nightmare with so much that can go wrong like valves that "never need adjusting" yet aren't hydraulic. Can't wait to see how these things start self destructing at around 50k miles.
Ya' know... That's EXACTLY what I said when I found out Ford was going standard with the Ecoboost V6 in the F-150 back in 2011. I REFUSED to buy one, and held on to my old 5.4 V8. Five years later, they have had little problems and the platform took off. That's probably going to be my next truck.
Enjoy your tuned 103". My stock 107" blows my old tuned 103" out of the water, even though my new bike is 100 lbs heavier than the old. Not even close... Nada, zero, zippo. The 107" packs a punch.
Oh well, I jumped in here with both feet. Because it IS a new design, I bought the extended warranty. If it blows up at 50K, I'm still covered. Something in my gut says it will be OK.

Agree I bought my 2017 Road Glide Ultra and have never been happier with any bike. And like you said I got an extended warranty if any issues arise.
