After reviewing 39 pages of 386 posts spanning 6 months, it looks like there are only about 6 posts concerning actual M8 problem. I know that not all M8 owners have posted their problem in this thread but only 6 different issues in 6 months compared to how ever many M8s have been purchased over that time span would have to be a very statistically small number.
I would say your chances of buying a new M8 and having a problem, are no greater than having a new problem with your current ride. JMHO.
Thanks for the summary! I was starting at the end and working my way back when I ran across it. My 2015 CVO is back at the dealer (again) I think it may stay this time.
Ill have mine one month tomorrow, I got just under 2000 miles on it already. I cant find a thing wrong, best thing on 2 wheels I've ever ridden. Very happy!
The biggest problem I've had with mine, is that the rear tire does not get enough traction in soft sand and buries the rear wheel to the mufflers. It took a couple guys to get me moving again..
Bought 17RGS January 31st. Love the bike but three times the check engine light has illuminated causing them twice to come trailer bike back to dealership. Just picked it up yesterday after they cleared code and made 3 trips to try and cause light to illuminate again. I rode the nearly 15 miles back to my home and as I entered my driveway the damn light came on again. It seems that it illuminates as I ride the clutch between my parked vehicles. So I'll pass that info onto the dealership and maybe they can find the problem this time? Can't be coincidence that it has illuminated 3 times as I either left or entered my driveway and riding the clutch.
I hope they figure it out... I read somewhere that the lemon law doesn't include recreational vehicles, trucks that weight more than 10k, and motorcycles. Warranty should still apply if they can't figure this out soon.
Anyone had experience with a fouled bike that the manufacturer has had to take back and replace? lol
Could it be possible what I've heard today that the MoCo has stopped the production of the M8 engine just because certain problems with the oil cooling? Sorry if looks dramatic.... just wanted to corroborate.

I suppose it could be possible. But I really doubt it. FWIW I haven't heard that.
It'd be easier to corroborate if you'd share where you heard it.
Just about to go back to the dealer for third time with an oil leak at or near the base of the fwd push rod tube. 2800 miles...first showed up at 1k. Doesn't leak at town speeds, but after even 30 min on hwy the timing cover has drips and it's splashing back on some nice shiny chrome. Any one else hear of this? They've replaced the o-rings and base plate gasket twice now!
