Man, to be honest, it was pouring down rain and I was trying to get off the road, so I scooted through some gravel/dirt parking lot to get to another one, rode off a small curb but didn't really feel anything major. After looking at it, there are some scrape marks under there. I guess I was just focused on getting it parked and myself inside to really notice anything. Sure as hell noticed when I tried to start her back up though!

I was thinking it might have been something the dealer messed up.. It looks more like the bottom of the motor got dinged.. The case joint looks gouged behind the sensor.. I suspect whatever gouged the case, cracked the sensor. It might have been from unloading but maybe something hit it..

My 2017 SGS started leaking from the rear push rod tube. Bringing it in tomorrow to have it worked on. Not pleased that I have a leak on a new SGS with only 800 miles on it. Hoping it's just a bad o-ring but we will find out after they look at it.

I got my bike back today. They replaced the crankshaft position sensor and put oil back into the bike. Cost about 175 to learn not to bottom out my SGS. Lesson learned!

Thanks for this post. Good to know that that, relatively fragile, sensor is there. These bikes are so low, tat you would think they would be able to handle getting bumped on the bottom.

Might be oil from the intake breathers accumulating and dropping in that area.
