Future M8 models...
The MOCO has hinted that this motor will eventually find its way towards other models. But nothing specific in terms of dates.
Anyone here have any info? Maybe you know someone who's a friend of someone sworn to secrecy. In which case makes it ok to spill the beans.
As so this is pretty much how it always happens LOL
he (the guy I know) says he heard that some dyna models are gonna get it for the 2018 model year.

The rumors of the M8 were fairly solid that there was going to be a new engine about a year to ten months out. Details were tough to come by until one guy posted some spy pics that were leaked. Those pics were posted here and HTT but the threads got pulled here - multiple times.
Even the dealers knew a new engine was coming, they just didn't know the details.
Now the rumors seem to be going as follows:
the MOCO is gonna unify frames so the tourers and the dynes are going to be sharing a common frame and the M8 motor. That rumor seems pretty strong. The questions are how would they introduce it... put the new frame and the M8 in the Dynas in '18 and then migrate the frame to the tourers in '19? Do them both all in one year? Phase in the new frame (and the M8s) in Dyna CVOs in '18? Then full in '19?
The only hiccup with the new frame rumors is the softtail line up. They already have a counterbalanced motor so they don't seem as eager to put the M8 in it as soon. But engine commonality will eventually make it happen, just nobody seems to be talking about when.
Personally, I don't think they'll ever put an M8 in a sporty. It's just not sized right to replace the 1200 (and certainly not the 883). I've read some really wild speculation that they'll end up putting the water cooled 750 motor (or a derivative of it) in a new sporty line. I'd be willing to bet we won't see that for a while - or they'll move it in super slowly, like one or two brand new sporty models per year.
Course, it's all guesses at this point. Sorry for rambling, sometimes I just like to play 'what if'. :-)
